About Clementine

Meet Clementine 🍊🐾 PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PROFILE FOR ADOPTION INSTRUCTIONS. Please do not use the interested button or application on Petfinder and instead apply on our website: www.project-secondchance.org/adopt ⸻ If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like when determination meets adorable… meet Clementine. This 4-month-old purebred Basset Hound may be low to the ground, but she has a big personality and an even bigger will to thrive. Clementine had a bit of a rough start, but you’d never know it now—she’s happy, healthy, and fully embracing her role as a playful, curious, slightly mischievous puppy. Like any proper Basset, her nose is her compass. Whether she’s exploring around the rescue, investigating every inch of her surroundings, or just toddling along with those long ears bouncing behind her, Clementine is always on a mission. (Where is she going? She’s not entirely sure—but it smells important.) She’s incredibly food-motivated—which makes her both hilarious and a great candidate for training—and she absolutely loves playing with other dogs, especially smaller ones who match her size and style. Clementine is affectionate, silly, and full of charm. She’ll follow you around, plop down beside you when she’s tired, and then pop right back up when something interesting catches her nose. And while she may be small now, those big paws are a hint—Basset Hounds can grow into a more medium-sized dog, and Clementine will likely have some size to her as she matures. As a young Basset Hound, she’ll do best in a home that understands the breed. A secure, fenced-in yard is strongly preferred, as Bassets are known for following their noses wherever they lead. Her unique, long-bodied build also means she’ll need a family that’s mindful as she grows and keeps her safe from too much jumping or rough play. Clementine is the perfect mix of sweet, goofy, and lovable—and she’s more than ready to find a family to call her own 💛 ⸻ They are available for adoption in Northern Virginia/DC/MD.
