This is Stewart. He was on the euthanasia list. Let that face sink in for a second. Friendly. Gentle. Reaching out for a hand like he’s known you his whole life. And he was sitting on death row. Not because he did anything wrong. Not because he’s difficult. Not because he’s aggressive. Because no one came for him… and he tested heartworm positive. That’s it. That’s all it takes in a shelter. But here’s the thing—heartworms are treatable. It’s not a death sentence… unless no one steps up. We are one of the few rescues willing to take that on. So we did.
