About Mindy

Mindy is a 5-month-old Shepherd/American Staffordshire Terrier mix in the DFW area who's just starting to discover what home life really means. She was found as a stray—thin and scared—until her foster mom rescued her from a rough start. Now, having settled into foster care, Mindy’s personality has started to shine: she soaks up attention, adores belly rubs, and delights in cuddling close, often making sweet little grunts as she curls up beside you. Despite her difficult start in life, Mindy is quickly learning the perks of stability and love. She’s playful, loves squeaky toys, and is particularly fond of her rubber chicken. Mindy is picking up on potty training and does well on a schedule, although she’s still learning. She finds confidence from the other dogs in her foster home and would do best in a house (not an apartment), ideally with older children and without cats. Mindy is crate trained, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. After so long on her own, she’s eager to belong. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Mindy

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Mindy, as a Shepherd/American Staffordshire Terrier mix, will do best in a house with a securely fenced yard. These breeds are active, need space, and thrive when they have room to explore and play.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Mindy's breeds need plenty of outdoor space. A yard large enough for running, fetch, and play will help her burn energy and stay happy.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Mindy would do best in homes with older children. Shepherd mixes and American Staffordshire Terriers are generally good with children when socialized, but young puppies like Mindy can be rambunctious and need supervision around small kids.
