About Mindy

***DFW area only-No Exceptions*** Mindy is a 4 months old (as of 4/3/26) possibly Shepherd/ American Staffordshire Terrier mix puppy. She was found stray, dirty and hungry and taken to a shelter. Her foster mom saw her laying scrawny, shut down and depressed in the shelter and felt compelled to bring her in to the Legacy Humane fold! Poor Mindy did get sick at the shelter but is recovering with medication and is also gaining weight appropriate for her frame in her foster home. Mindy loves to be cuddled, enjoys belly rubs, and is loves the attention of her people. She was probably on the streets her whole life so being in a home is new to her. She is working on gaining confidence with in home routines and with the routine noises of a home. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. She needs an owner who has the time and patience to work with her through her fears and show her what a great place home can be. She will reward her owner with unfailing love: following you, laying at your feet and seeking pets. She’s learning that a crinkle toy or a ball are wonderful toys! Mindy is working on potty training and, given a potty schedule, she does very well considering she just started learning this skill. Mindy would do best in a home with no children and not cats. She does well with the dogs in her foster home, often looking to them for cues on what to do in her new environment. She would not be apartment appropriate. Current weight 17 lbs Projected weight 50 lbs Crate trained We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes her spay, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative.
