About Gidget

Gidget is a small, sturdy Pocket Pittie with a tough past. At around 8 years old, this brindle and white, short-coated female Pitbull/American Staffordshire mix is compactβ€”she barely reaches knee height and weighs in at 43 lbs. Despite being bred repeatedly and arriving at animal control underweight with patches of flea-induced leathered skin, she has made a remarkable recovery and her coat is nearly back to normal. Gidget is gentle, very sweet, and knows her name, sit, and stay. She's also proven to be house trained so far. She would thrive as an only pet, though she might do okay with a male dog. She is not always comfortable with other female dogs in her foster home, but reportedly gets along well with cats and enjoys the company of children. One of her favorite things is being held and scratched. She walks well on a leash and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can run safely. Gidget comes with her own bed, bowls, food, leash, collar, toys, and medical records. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. For applicants, she is adoptable within 100 miles of Byron, IL.
