About Dudley
Dudley is a big, dignified guy with a soft side underneath all that impressive fluff. He’s independent and smart, but always keen for affection and knows exactly when it’s time for a good lounge session on the couch. Dudley starts out curious—he’ll give his new surroundings a good once-over and then settle right in, content to find his favorite spot and keep watch. Loyal to his core, Dudley will stick close to his people once he’s settled. He’ll tune in to the vibe of the room, keeping to himself or wading in for a head rub or some quiet company. Dudley’s had his fair share of medical challenges, coming to rescue with a chronic ear infection and heartworm that were left untreated. After months of vet care—including an ear canal removal—he’s bounced back. He can still hear just fine, especially if you call him in from the yard. He’s house trained, does great with dogs of all types and sizes, and has been around cats and children as well. Dudley currently enjoys daycare and yard play with a crowd of dog friends, showing he’s social and gentle. He’ll thrive in a home where he can get plenty of love and be one of the family. The team at Stay Scharp Rescue has seen Dudley through thick and thin, so he’s ready for a home that will give back the devotion and calm joy he brings. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Dudley
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Dudley’s mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and Great Pyrenees does best in a home with room to stretch out, ideally with a yard or outdoor space. These breeds love a relaxed environment where they can be close to their people.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Dudley would thrive with a large, securely fenced yard, as both Bernese Mountain Dogs and Great Pyrenees enjoy time outside to roam or lounge. Apartment life can be tough for these extra-large breeds unless plenty of daily outdoor exercise is provided.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Dudley’s breed mix is generally gentle, patient, and loving with children. As his foster has vouched, he gets along well around kids and is calm and tolerant.
