Marsy
AvailableMarsy is a chihuahua/terrier mix, about 6 years and 1 month old, with a red chestnut coat. She is a small, spayed female currently located in San Mateo, CA. Her vaccinations are up to date. Marsy does well with other dogs, but she’s best suited for homes without children.
About Marsy
Marsy is a shy but endearing chihuahua/terrier mix who arrived from a Bay Area shelter just in time. She had been facing euthanasia, but she's been given another shot and is now learning to trust. When you first meet Marsy, she hangs back, a bit wary, but her curiosity wins out—she'll come, sniff, and keep you in her sights, always wanting to be close at her own pace. If you move slowly and let her come to you, she warms up, asking gently for pets once she feels safe. Marsy is good in the car and walks well on leash. She did fine in the shelter with another dog and has shown no reactivity passing dogs on walks. At the moment, she's settling into foster care, so more details will come as she gains confidence. Because she’s shy, she’s looking for an adult-only home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Marsy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Marsy, as a chihuahua/terrier mix, does well in cozy indoor environments like apartments or small homes, especially when she has a quiet place to retreat. She'll thrive with a patient owner in San Mateo, CA who can give her time to settle in.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahua/terrier mixes like Marsy don't need much outdoor space, just regular short walks and some time to sniff around. A small yard or nearby park is plenty for her exercise needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
With Marsy's background and shy personality, a home without children is best. Chihuahua mixes can sometimes be nervous around fast movements or loud noise, so calmer adult households suit her well.
