She can be a little shy at first, but once she bonds with her people, she becomes very attached to her favorite adults and loves curling up for naps on the couch with them. Once she feels safe, her affectionate side really shines. Her favorite thing to do is roll over and offer her belly for rubs, which earned her the adorable nickname “Ellie Belly.” Ellis is potty trained and does well relaxing in her kennel while her fosters are away. She’s wonderful with cats and absolutely loves other dogs. In fact, she would likely thrive in a home with a confident canine friend to help her feel secure. Ellis loves being outside and happily spends much of her time exploring the yard or playing with the other dogs at her foster home. On walks, Ellis is an angel on the leash and enjoys peaceful adventures, especially if water is involved. Because kids can make her nervous, Ellis would do best in a calm home without young children. With a little patience and understanding, she will reward her family with loyalty, sweetness, and plenty of belly-rub opportunities!
