About Millie

Millie is a 12-year-old brown and white pit bull mix who’s seen her share of tough times but hasn’t lost her sweetness. Weighing in around 40 pounds, she’s spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and completely house, crate, and leash trained—she’s easy on a walk and loves a good car ride. Millie learns quickly, especially when treats are involved, though she’ll need an adopter who understands her particular quirks. She’s had challenges with men in the past and can be a fear snapper if startled, so calm, confident leadership is a must. While she’ll guard treats and food, she does well with respectful older children and is selective with other dogs, preferring those who don’t crowd her. Cats won’t work. She’s being fostered in Hampton, VA (adoptions transportable out-of-state), and needs an adult adopter 21+ who will give her a peaceful, steady environment. If you’re patient and up for the challenge, Millie will be a loyal, grateful companion. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
