About Gypsy
Gypsy is a striking, big calico who tips the scales at nearly 13lbs and gives off a quiet confidence when she feels safe. She has Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), a stress-related condition where her bladder can get inflamed, leading to occasional accidents outside her litter box. This isn’t behavioral; it all comes down to stress—she just can’t handle chaotic or unpredictable environments. Gypsy lived with kids and another cat before, and while she seems fine sharing her space with a laid-back feline, dogs or young children aren’t a fit. She needs a steady home with minimal activity and ideally would be your only pet, where she can just relax, decompress, and finally feel secure. While she hid and stayed nervous at first in the shelter, Gypsy now shows affection for anyone willing to take things slow. Head scratches make her purr loud enough to fill the room, and she truly blossoms with gentle attention. She won’t thrive in households that are always buzzing, but in the right hands—with someone patient and understanding—she’ll show her real sweetness. She’s not acting out; Gypsy only has accidents when her stress ramps up. Find her a peaceful sanctuary and she’ll reward you with calm companionship and plenty of love. Fun fact: Gypsy is a Cancer, so she feels safest in calm, caring environments and will form strong bonds with her person. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Gypsy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Domestic short hair cats like Gypsy adapt well to many environments, but Gypsy, given her FIC and temperament, will do best in a quiet, low-stress home without children or dogs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Gypsy and most domestic short hair cats are perfectly happy as indoor cats and do not need outdoor access to thrive, especially for health and safety.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While many domestic short hairs get along with children, Gypsy does not do well in active homes with kids due to her sensitivity to stress.
