ID 60654290 This handsome beefy boy named Goon (we did not name him, it came with him) was a surrender when his family felt they didn’t have the space or time to care for him. He was unsure why he was at the shelter and was so happy when volunteers started to get him out, and he would show his appreciation with some slobber, some cuddles, and some puppy dog eyes. He is 4 yrs of age but has a lot of young dog vibes to him. He has playful energy, knows a stellar sit, and about loves treats. One thing about his treat taking skills is that he sorta forgets that he has a mouth as big as his body. We affectionately call these dogs “piranha treat snappers” and volunteers are working on “closed fist, open hand” approach which is great to use for any dog !! Volunteers are happy to how you all about this, as we truly want our dogs to succeed. Goon did very well with the shelter dogs he has met, and we do require a meet/greet to make sure it is a good fit with any resident dog. It also stated he did live with kids, but, in a new home, he would have to adjust to new family members and as always, direction supervision is a must, along with understanding his body language and comfort. Come on down and meet this guy. He is ready to embark on a new life, and leave his past behind, and looks forward to the comfort of a new cozy dog bed to call his own.
