About Face

Yup, this guys name is Face. This 2 yr old extra beefy boi is beyond gorgeous, but he's definitely got more to him than that. He's very strong, a bit stubborn and can hyper focus like no bodies business. He inarguably needs to be an only child as he's not a fan of other animals (and is big enough to win any disagreement he gets into) but he loves humans. Destroying toys (so satisfying!) and getting belly rubs (that's the spot!) are 2 of his favorite activities. Being in the shelter is definitely a bit triggering for him- all the noise, movement, other dogs and minimal exercise is not his best situation. Hopefully his forever family will find him soon and start his adjustment into a home. What he's looking for in a good match- someone with large dog experience and the physical strength to work with him, regular training to keep his mind sharp and exercise to keep his physique trim, lots of toys to tear apart and room to lounge about, and mostly patience, consistency, boundaries and clear expectations provided every day. Face is not a everything's easy on day1 kind of pup- he's a challenger and tester- he needs humans who are up for that. The payoff will be his silly ways, goofy smile, good looking swagger and loyalty. For the right home, that's a helluva good deal. If you think you have what it takes to face this c hallenge with Face, head into #burbankanimalshelter and meet him for yourself. 5/13/26 From his day hike: I could not have asked for a better walk. He is a terrific traveler. He's so compact that even if he stands for the entire ride, I can still see out the back window. But, he knows the drill and lays down to enjoy the rhythm of the road. Once we were out and about, Face settled into his walk inside 5 minutes. He keeps a good pace with zero pulling, jerking, lunging, or barking. He's just a chill little dude up for an adventure. We were out for approximately 2 hours. We took a couple of breaks, but he didn't seem to need them. He sat in the grass, sniffed as much as possible, and checked in with me regularly. I like to talk to him throughout the walk to let him know he's doing a good job, and I was rewarded with a sweet, confident companion. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this sweet boy has not been adopted. We walked the bike path today, and I was on high alert. Face was amazing. Not a peep out of him. No barking, lunging, jerking, etc. He's just a sweet, chill, loose-leash walking little guy. We saw a few dogs, and his inner voice was like, Hey, you're out, too? Pretty cool, am I right? All good! We stopped into Romancing the Bean for a smoothie, and people asked to pet him and take his picture. If you are new in town and want to become a local celebrity, adopt this dog immediately.
