About Basset Hound Dogs

Basset Hounds are charming, low-slung hounds with droopy ears, soulful eyes, and a wonderfully relaxed approach to life. Their calm, patient demeanor and gentle nature make them easygoing family companions. Despite their couch-potato reputation, they have a keen nose and enjoy leisurely sniff-walks.

Adopting a Basset Hound means gaining a mellow, affectionate friend who's content with moderate activity and plenty of snuggle time. They're excellent with children and other pets, and their calm temperament makes them ideal for families seeking a laid-back companion.

Warm and humid but the forest canopy provides welcome shade. Morning walks on the B-Line Trail and around Griffy Lake are pleasant. The campus area quiets down in summer, offering peaceful walking routes.
