About Heidi
Heidi is currently in foster care near West Palm Beach, Florida, where she's building muscle, confidence, and structure with help from a professional dog trainer. She's fully vetted and was recently spayed. Heidi has the classic Belgian Malinois drive: athletic, loyal, extremely intelligent, and eager to learn. She excels with toys, especially when there's a ball or tug involved, and she’s all in for a game of fetch. Highly social and friendly with people she meets, Heidi stays clean and quiet in her crate and is fully housetrained. She thrives on activity and will not do well as a couch potato. Heidi is being trained in obedience, impulse control, and basic house manners. She’s high energy, with fantastic toy drive and solid potential for sport, obedience work, detection-style games, or hiking. While she's generally good with male dogs, she can be pesty and will need an experienced handler who understands the Malinois working temperament—someone ready to provide structure, exercise, training, and breed-specific enrichment every day. Heidi is not recommended for homes with cats or young children because of her prey drive and mouthy habits. She’s a dog who wants direction and will shine with a consistent, confident handler. If you know and love the Malinois spirit, Heidi's a fun, driven companion with enormous potential. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Heidi
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Belgian Malinois like Heidi do best in active homes with plenty of structure, consistent routines, and room to exercise. They need handlers willing to engage them both physically and mentally.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Heidi's breed, the Belgian Malinois, thrives with access to a medium to large yard or daily activities in open spaces. They require more room than the average pet to burn off that high energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Belgian Malinois like Heidi are generally not recommended for homes with young children due to their high drive and mouthy tendencies. Older, dog-savvy children may be a better fit if supervised.
