Leo is a 3-year-old Poodle who came to NAWS in heartbreaking condition. He was severely matted all the way down to his skin, unable to see, and incredibly confused. Scroll to find his before photo. Understandably, Leo was guarded, unsure, and very stressed upon arrival. Since then, he’s been groomed, cared for, fed, and, most importantly, shown kindness. Slowly but surely, Leo is beginning to show us his personality and learn that he can trust again. He loves going on walks and spending time outside of his kennel. Toys are still a mystery to him, but we know he’ll get there. The loud shelter environment has been hard on Leo, and it’s clear he’s struggling, we would love nothing more than for his stay to be short. Leo is looking for a calm, quiet home where he can decompress and continue to come out of his shell. He would do well with other dogs but will need time, patience, and space to adjust to new people and environments.
