This gorgeous girl has had a hard life, at 14 years old, Nico has spent most of her life living on the streets. She was initially adopted from the Humane Society at 8 years old, only to end up on her foster mom’s porch 7 years later, begging for food, 50 miles away from her original adoption center. Despite this, she’s a cuddle bug who loves to talk. She might not be playful or little anymore, but if you’re looking for a relaxed cat, Nico adores being held, brushed, and sitting on her foster mom’s lap. She is also very passionate about catnip and pâté. Nico needs an owner that understands that she has trauma from her years on the streets. She occasionally will get overstimulated and need a break, she lets you know by giving you a hiss and/or a bop without her claws. If you continue to push her, she will scratch and/or bite. Nico is a great communicator, she has set boundaries and is looking for somebody willing to listen to them. As long as you don’t push her, Nico will happily talk to you with her “squeaky toy meow” and beg for your attention. Nico will need to be a solo cat. She has been friendly and sweet with all of the people she’s met, and doesn’t have an issue with the small dogs she’s been fostered with. She does however, see other cats as competition.
