About Ranger
Ranger is a 3-4 year-old mixed-breed dog with a soft spot for people and playful energy to spare. Found running along the highway during winter, Ranger landed in a loving foster home after a scary stint at the shelter. He quickly adapted to the pack life, taking cues from his older canine foster siblings. Adoring cuddles, Ranger likes to climb right onto your lap, press close, and hand out hugs and kisses to just about anyone. Food is always on his mind—though you’ll have to watch out for his fondness for snacking on sticks and leaves outside. He prefers the security of an airline crate when left alone, as it helps him feel safe, and does best when able to sleep next to his humans. Thunderstorms and rain make him anxious, and he’s happiest surrounded by people who understand his need for comfort. He gets along well with other dogs, but introductions should be done with care if the other dog may be overwhelmed by his enthusiastic welcome. Ranger is friendly, affectionate, and still working on keeping all four paws on the ground when excited, so a household with stable-footed adults or older kids is ideal. He does fine in his crate during a standard workday, though wire crates and bedding don’t stand up to his anxious chewing. Ranger's foster family says he’s one of the best out of all their fosters, and he’s ready to find a family of his own. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

A medium-sized mixed-breed like Ranger benefits from regular outdoor activity and enough space to burn energy. He'll do well with a secure yard or frequent neighborhood walks.
