About Rogue
My name is Rogue. Not long ago, I was found out there roaming with another dog. People in the area kept seeing us in the same place for weeks, and believe we were likely abandoned there together. We stayed close to that area the whole time, trying to figure things out on our own. The staff here still say they don't know how we managed to keep ourselves fed or find places to shelter, especially during the freezing cold nights we had while we were out there. Many people tried to help us for nearly two weeks, but we were scared and didn't know who to trust, so we kept our distance even though we really needed someone. During that time, something happened that I'll probably never forget. My friend was hit by a car and passed over the Rainbow Bridge. After witnessing that, I just shut down. I was exhausted, confused, and didn't really have much fight left in me. Thankfully, not long after, someone was finally able to safely bring me here to FDHS, and that's when things slowly started to change for the better. The people here have been patient and gentle with me. They gave me a warm place to rest, steady meals, and the time I needed to start feeling safe again. As I've settled in, they've learned that underneath everything I went through, I'm actually a very sweet boy who likes being around people who care. They also noticed that I'm already neutered, which means that at some point in my life I belonged to someone and was cared for. Now I'm surrounded by people who truly want the best for me and are committed to giving me a good life while I wait for the person who's meant to be mine. I've been through a lot, but I'm safe now, and for the first time in a while, I feel hopeful about what comes next.
