About Sirena

Sometimes plans just don't work out the way everyone hopes. Sirena had her chance at a long-term home—she came in three years ago with her litter, was adopted by an older couple, but through no fault of her own, she's now back and searching once again. She's about 5 years old now, those lovely golden locks just as soft, with some extra weight that could use trimming down. Sirena lives for naps on the couch, TV time, and the steady, quiet presence of the people she trusts. She doesn’t warm up to strangers instantly, but given patience, she’ll open her loyal heart fully. At 50 lbs, Sirena’s ideal weight is closer to 45 lbs. She's a medium-energy, calm companion with good house manners, crate trained, fully housetrained, and walks well on leash. Fenced yards are her favorite for bursts of play, but she’s just as happy lounging inside with her people. She does have a strong prey drive and herding instincts, so homes with small children or small pets aren’t a fit. Slippery floors, nail trims, and long car rides aren’t much to her liking either, but those have workarounds. What matters most is a quiet, patient home (DC/MD/NOVA area) where she can settle in for good, or even as a foster, before time runs out. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
