Calvin
AvailableCalvin is a large, neutered male cat with short orange tabby fur, currently living in Plain City, OH. As an adult, he has been vaccinated and reliably uses his litter box. Calvin has special needs due to significant vision impairment and FIV-positive status, and he would do best in a caring, indoor environment that can support his health requirements.
About Calvin
Calvin arrived at a kind person's doorstep about six weeks ago, looking for a safe place to land. He quickly showed his good-natured, affectionate side and thrives on neck scratches. Calvin does have significant vision loss—his foster noticed he struggles to see, and his veterinarian confirmed cataracts and corneal scarring limit his sight to, at best, only shadows. For Calvin, a protected home environment is essential. He has been neutered, ear-tipped, is vaccinated against rabies, and tested negative for feline leukemia. Calvin does test positive for FIV. FIV-positive cats like Calvin can live long, happy lives with proper vet care and must stay indoors. He could happily coexist with non-FIV cats, as transmission typically happens only through major fights. Calvin uses his litter box reliably and stays gentle with people and other cats. He recently received antibiotics for paw wounds and does have dental disease; further dental treatment is likely. With a sweet temperament, Calvin could settle in as a house cat or live on a screened-in porch. He’s ready for a home that values his gentle spirit and understands his needs.
