About Smokey
Smokey spent a long time in the shelter before finally getting his break in foster care, and he’s made the most of it. This Border Collie/Pit Bull mix has proven himself housebroken—only a single accident the first day—crates up without a fight, and sleeps soundly through the night. Smokey is sharp and easy to train; he listens after one firm 'no' and is eager to follow his person's lead. Playtime is his thing, tearing into toys and ropes with puppy-like energy before settling in for a cuddle or a nap right in your lap. He rides well in the car, quickly sits for treats, and likes to keep an eye on his loved ones, always trying to figure out what’ll make you happy. At about 4 years old and 60 lbs, he is low-maintenance and just wants to belong. Smokey would do best in a cat-free home but does get along with other dogs and children. He’s overcome a lot and is more than ready for a home of his own. Fun fact: Smokey is a Taurus—no wonder he’s so loyal and steady. Click apply to start the adoption process.
