Not a “problem cat.” A cat asking for help. Cats don’t act out for no reason—when they start marking or going outside the litter box, it’s communication. Stress, change, instability… they are trying to cope the only way they know how. Meet Sumi. Adopted 5 years ago. Now being returned due to life changes—and labeled as a cat who sometimes pees outside the box. But we know better. This behavior is almost always caused by something deeper—medical or environmental. Sumi doesn’t need blame… she needs understanding. She is incredibly sweet and deserves the chance to feel safe again. We are looking for a quiet home where she can decompress so we can figure out what she needs and help her thrive. We never give up on our cats. She will always have a place with us but we would love to give her the chance at a real forever home. 🐾
