This handsome guy is Mr. MIKEY! He is a looker with those beautiful eyes, permanent eyeliner, floppy ears and solid body. It doesn’t take long to see how endearing he is with his people and is happy to show off his goofy side throughout the day. Mikey is about 6 months old and hovering just under 40 pounds. He’s a solid, stocky guy on the outside and a mushy love on the inside. He has not had a ton of experiences in the world, so he takes things on the slower side when it comes to new people and experiences. He lights up when he sees other dogs which makes it easier for him to meet other people. If you have a dog, you have already passed his test. He will benefit from a family with another balanced dog and a family that has the time and would be excited to create positive exposure to a variety of different experiences with people, places and things. We would describe him as a low energy, mellow fella who enjoys his daily walks and playdates, but doesn’t need a high energy outlet. He actually is pretty happy cuddling on the couch with his kitty friend in his current foster home. His previous foster home in St. Croix had several other dogs which he truly enjoyed being with, learning from and playing with. He is more confident around doggie friends, so having a dog in his permanent home will be a requirement for him. He also lived with kiddos in his St. Croix home which he adored. Mikey loves a good chew, toys and tasty treats. He loves to sunbathe outside and his walks are more of a sniffari than a fast paced walk. He LOVES playing with other dogs and has a fantastic playstyle. He is very good at matching other friend’s playstyles and very respectful. He also is very gentle when taking treats and appreciates a good belly rub. Crate trained, good on a leash, good house-manners, great co-pilot and overall a sweet baby. He has a good foundation under those four paws and is ready to up the game with a family ready to coach him through his next chapter. Mikey is being fostered in Underhill, VT.
