About Doyle
Meet Doyle - a sweet, smart, and soulful guy who's ready to be your loyal companion! At 8 years old and 61 pounds, Doyle brings a calm, laid-back presence wherever he goes and is easy to get out of the kennel, making him a great start to any outing. On leash, Doyle is a pleasure to walk. He has only mild pulling at times and remains nonreactive to birds and other distractions, though he may show a little curiosity here and there. Overall, he's very manageable and enjoyable to take out and about. Doyle loves a good car ride-he hops right in, enjoys the breeze with his head out the window, and eventually settles down to relax. He does wonderfully in public settings, confidently greeting new people and seeking out affection. He's known to lean into you or weave through a group just to maximize his pets! While he enjoys staying on the move, he is also able to settle when needed. He shows positive, relaxed body language around other dogs, offering slow, broad tail wags and remaining easy to handle without excessive pulling. He's also had positive interactions with kids, making him a well-rounded companion. Doyle is a smart, treat-motivated boy who already knows several commands, including sit, down, and shake. He enjoys learning and could easily pick up even more tricks-especially if treats (or even ice cubes!) are involved. He also enjoys a good game of fetch to keep things fun. This "well-spoken gentleman" isn't afraid to share his opinions-he may give a little bark to ask for attention, clearly communicating when he'd like some extra love. While Doyle may come across as a bit aloof at first, he quickly shows just how sweet and affectionate he truly is. With his intelligence, friendly nature, and steady demeanor, he's truly a special dog. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with great manners and a touch of personality, Doyle might just be your perfect match. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
