About Juniper Aka Junie B
Meet Juniper (Junie) - A Survivor with Unstoppable Spirit 💛 Juniper, lovingly known as Junie, was found in the North End of Hartford, hiding in a bush and enduring something no animal should ever face. Bored young men were poking her with sticks for entertainment when she was discovered and rescued. Despite everything, Junie's story is not one of defeat--it's one of resilience, strength, and quiet courage. Junie has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition similar to cerebral palsy in humans. Cats with CH may have wobbly movements, poor coordination, or tremors--but it is not painful and does not worsen over time. Junie's case is on the more severe side, but don't tell her that--she has absolutely no idea she's "different," and we plan to keep it that way. Junie may be cautious around humans--and understandably so--but beneath that fear is a cat who has fought hard to survive. She is learning that not all people are unkind, and with patience, consistency, and love, she will continue to grow in confidence. About Junie: Special needs (Cerebellar Hypoplasia - "wobbly cat") Strong, resilient, and independent Learning to trust at her own pace A true survivor with a heart full of potential Junie is looking for a patient, understanding home that will celebrate her uniqueness and give her the safe, loving life she has always deserved. She doesn't need pity--she needs someone who sees her strength. Because Junie doesn't know she's different... she just knows she's alive--and that's more than enough. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Email adoptions@ctcatconnection.org with a question or better yet, complete an application for quickest consideration. (Application: https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application/). Select cats can be fostered instead! Apply on our website. A cat's behavior in the shelter may not be what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat. Most often, in a home, they thrive! Kitten Policy: Kittens must be able to socialize with other young cats or dogs as playmates, as it is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion. Due to demand, we do not place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet all cats or kittens available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Fill out an application, which can be found at https://www.ctcatconnection.org/get-involved/
