About Genna
Genna is a petite, young Bluetick Coonhound now in the St. Louis area and looking for her next person. When she first arrives someplace new, she keeps her distance at first—then quickly warms up, exploring the house with tail wagging and soaking up attention and treats. She behaves the same with strangers: reserved at the start, then friendly once she feels comfortable. At 43 lbs, Genna is a good weight for her breed and is learning to let you know when she needs to go outside. Her foster mom is working on crate training, and Genna is getting the hang of leash walking—she stays close except when a good smell catches her hound nose. Out on walks, she notices other dogs but stays calm and doesn't bark or pull towards them. With careful introductions, Genna enjoys playing with other dogs and is especially fond of running in the yard with a coonhound buddy, swapping toys and chews back and forth. She's comfortable sharing and doesn’t guard resources, as long as her food bowl isn’t disturbed. In the car, she’s a calm and polite passenger. Click apply to start the adoption process.
