About Willy

Willy, our charming young boy, came to us as a stray from a golf course in Safford, Arizona. This calm 18-month-old is a delightful mix of Basset Hound and Australian Shepherd. With a weight of about 35 pounds, he's not too large, but certainly has some lovable low-rider qualities from his Basset lineage. Currently crate-trained, Willy does well when crated as he tends to explore a bit too much when unsupervised. He would thrive best in a home where he isn't left alone for long stretches—ideally no more than 3-4 hours. Willy is friendly with other dogs and enjoys walks; he’s well-behaved on a leash and doesn’t bark at other pups he spots. His playful side shines when he’s around toys, as he loves to scatter them around the house. Having been in two different foster homes, he adjusted well in both, interacting playfully with other dogs. As he’s still young, he does need extra mental and physical stimulation, so a home with another active dog would be perfect. Willy has completed a basic obedience training course, and practicing commands keeps him engaged after his walks. Willy is available for adoption with an adoption fee of $300. His future adopters should prioritize maintaining his training and be conscious of his sensitive stomach. He'll come with a supply of his current food to help ease any transition. Located in Tucson, he's adoptable within a 120-mile radius. If Willy sounds like the companion for you, don’t hesitate to apply!
