Oreo is a beautiful, affectionate girl who just wants to be someone's one-and-only. She's happiest curled up next to her people or out on an adventure by your side--either way, she's all in when it comes to love. Oreo comes to us as a thoughtful owner surrender. Her family adores her, but she and the dog that came before her simply cannot work things out between them - they've gone to every length to get these dogs to be besties, but it's not happening. The family was referred to by their Veterinary Behaviorist, who says this is a good dog - just needs to be in a different home. Oreo does not like OTHER DOGS (NOT HUMANS) eating her food, so she has to be fed separately. Again, being the only dog is key for this girl. Zero issues with humans touching her food, adding to her food bowl, or taking it away. Here's the weird thing - she LOVES OTHER DOGS - loves them. We don't know if it's just the one dog she was housed with that's causing issues with her living with other dogs, but we think, to save her from going through this again, she should go to a home that's active and full of life, where she's the only 4-legged. Oreo attends daycare often with multiple other dogs - the pictures show how much fun she has. Dogs on a leash are not her favorite thing either, so no city living for this girl - suburbs where she can walk without running into other dogs on leash every 10 feet would be key, BUT again, off leash, she's the one loving other dogs and playing. When she encounters other dogs on leash, she is easily distracted by treats and by her handler.
