Henna is a dog you just *have* to come see in person! She has a true beauty and uniqueness that cannot be captured in photos, and believe us -- we've tried! This 3-year-old girl is currently our longest-term resident and has spent 155 days waiting for her forever home. She's come a long way in that time, thanks to our volunteer dog trainers, and is ready to show off her skills to interested adopters! Henna's a sucker for neck massages and belly rubs. If you come to meet her, it's likely that within minutes she'll be offering up her belly to you! Henna appears to be housetrained, and she loves working with people. She's been in busy areas of the shelter with adults, kids, and dogs passing through and has remained calm the whole time. Henna's a dog who loves getting outside to explore and sniff, and she's able to keep herself entertained with toys when she's back inside. Henna's ideal home is one that's moderately active and will provide routine and guidance. A patient handler who will provide structure, redirect excitement and reward calm behavior while continuing her basic training would be best for Henna. She'd thrive with someone who enjoys taking her on walks, letting her sniff, and engaging her in light training games -- she loves to learn!
