JJ is a spunky, quirky Mini Aussie who has survived a tough start. He spent his first five years in a tiny puppy mill kennel, never knowing the touch of grass or kindness from humans. When he arrived at the rescue, he was scared, thin, and badly matted, with rotted teeth that have since been taken care of. The early days were rough—JJ avoided people and clung to his kennel, darting away from anyone who approached. His kennel remains his sanctuary, especially the small, cozy ones. He makes slow but genuine progress with patient handling and has learned from other dogs what it means to play and trust. JJ absolutely thrives when surrounded by other dogs and picks up cues from the pack. His playful, goofy personality starts to shine around other canines, and he's shown he can be affectionate once truly comfortable. He might even tap you for more attention or zoom in gleeful circles once you earn his trust. Patience is everything with him—he needs a calm, adult-only household, preferably led by a gentle woman, and a securely fenced yard. A leash still scares him, so walks won't be part of his early routine. JJ is neutered, vaccinated, and up to date on healthcare. A special dog for someone who values steady, long-term companionship over instant results.
