Devoted as both a mother and companion, she found herself in rescue after her previous family could no longer care for her, arriving with her three kittens—Lime, Melon, and Papaya. This little family became a milestone for the rescue team, being their very first intake as a New Hope Partner. Shy and reserved at first, Xena does best in a quiet, calm environment where she can decide when to interact. Once comfortable, she'll happily seek gentle pets, head rubs, or simply relax nearby. She isn’t one for being picked up or held, but she’s affectionate in her own subtle ways. Xena has lived with adults, children, other cats, and dogs, tolerating each calmly as long as boundaries are respected. She thrives with a cat-savvy adopter who understands her pace and respects her space, allowing trust to grow naturally. Her kittens are thriving in foster care, playful and ready for their own homes, and Xena herself is now hoping for a fresh start in Danbury, CT.
