About Rusty
Rusty arrived at the rescue with Daisy, through no fault of his own, and now he's searching for a new place to settle. He splits his time easily between being a cheerful walker and a true couch potato. Rusty handles leash walks with minimal pulling, and he genuinely enjoys a relaxed car ride (though he sometimes needs a little help getting in). Out and about, Rusty is welcoming with new people, and he’s shown to be housebroken. In the kennel or home crate, he settles in well, and rescue staff recommend crating him when you leave the house. Rusty gets along just fine with other dogs when passing by or in structured settings—he scored well during dog testing. At home, though, he can become protective of his people around other dogs, so a proper meet and greet is suggested if you have another canine. Rusty is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and kept on heartworm prevention. He’s a good balance of energy and calm, looking for a family to join.
