Courage is a female dog who presented bright, alert, and responsive (BAR) with a significant mass located on the lower lip/mucosa, along with severe dental disease. The oral mass may be associated with discomfort, difficulty eating, and potential for progression, and it requires further diagnostic evaluation (such as biopsy) and likely surgical intervention. Additionally, her advanced dental disease is a source of chronic pain and infection and will require comprehensive dental treatment, including possible extractions. These medical concerns require specialized veterinary care and ongoing management that exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her condition, Courage remains sweet and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Courage needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive proper diagnostic workup, treatment, and recovery support to improve her comfort and quality of life. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.
