Steeve is a sweet and easygoing older gentleman with the most charming smile. At 5-7 years old, he's happiest lounging nearby, soaking up attention, and bonding with his humans. He's low-energy overall but enjoys the occasional burst of zoomies, roll in the grass, or play session with a dog friend. Steeve adores kids and is patient and gentle with them. He walks great on a leash, is fully house trained, and has excellent manners in the home. He can be a little vocal, greeting you with an excited whine and the occasional bark, though he doesn't bark at strangers or noises. He also currently lives peacefully with two cats. Steeve gets along with most dogs, and seems quite fond of his foster dog sibling, though he would also thrive as an only dog. He can occasionally be dog-selective, so a meet-and-greet with any potential dog siblings is a good idea. Being an older guy, Steeve has shown signs of early cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) disease. He's currently comfortable and doesn't need surgery, but there is a possibility he may require a procedure in the future if the ligament tears. He can't do everything a younger dog can do (like jumping onto a high surface like a bed) but we've noticed his mobility is much improved on medication (joint supplements), which he should continue in his forever home. What he lacks in physical prowess, he makes up for with good looks, sweet nature, and the goofiest smile you've ever seen. Steeve is the definition of "happy to be here."
