Maximus is the perfect blend of sweet, silly, and loyal. This handsome Pit Bull/Chihuahua mix may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him about 24 hours and you’ll see his true personality shine. Once he warms up, Max becomes the ultimate companion—affectionate, cuddly, and always ready for some love. Pet him once and he’ll happily roll over for belly rubs, and if you speak to him kindly, he’ll curl right up beside you for snuggles. Max is a well-mannered boy who is already potty trained, sits on command, and doesn’t bark much. He’s comfortable being left alone and has a calm, easygoing nature that makes him a great fit for many kinds of homes. Whether you have kids, other dogs, or it’s just the two of you, Max is happy simply being part of the pack. He still has a bit of playful puppy energy, especially when greeting you at the door, heading out for walks, or getting ready for mealtime. His excitement is full of happy wiggles and love, and while he might get a little jumpy at first, he settles down quickly. You can even see him trying his best to contain those adorable wiggles! Max is currently learning leash manners and is doing great with treat-based training—he’s very eager to please and incredibly trainable. He gets excited when he sees other dogs and just wants to say hello. If another dog is aggressive, Max tends to become shy and submissive rather than reactive, showing his gentle nature. One thing to note: Max is very interested in cats on walks, so a cat-free home may be best. What people love most about Max is how adaptable he is. If you want to go for a walk, he’s ready to join you. If you want to relax or nap, he’ll happily settle in right beside you. At the perfect small-to-medium size, he’s the ideal companion for both adventures and cozy nights at home. Max truly embodies the meaning of “man’s best friend.” Whoever welcomes him into their home will gain a loyal, loving companion for life. He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.
