Meet Kaleen! This silky black kitten was found outside by a kind neighbor who brought her in and showed her what love looks like. She then came to Heartland along with her friend, Marissa. The shelter was a much different place than a home, so it was taking a little longer for them to come out of their shells. Kaleen was initially found with one cloudy eye, and when she first came in, it was not bothering her much. In time, she was continuously on different eye medications due to ongoing infections. The decision was made to remove the one eye, and we do not think twice about that decision one bit. Kaleen has blossomed into a playful and affectionate cat which has been really exciting to see. While she still might be a little shy at first, once you earn her trust, she is a total sweetheart. She enjoys the electronic toys and playing with feather wand toys. She also enjoys the company of the other cats in the room and often is found cuddling. Her friend, Marissa, has since been adopted, but Kaleen is ready for her next big adventure. Do you have a cozy space to offer with some good windows for birdwatching? Kaleen is spayed, up-to-date on FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations, and FIV and FeLV negative.
