Hello... my name is Perdita. It's a bit of a dramatic name, I know. If you've ever heard it before, you might know it means "the lost one." And, well... my journey has had a few twists and turns. I was first adopted in Houston, then made my way eventually to Illinois. But life got busier for my family, and there just wasn't much time for me anymore. So here I am again, hoping my next chapter will be my forever one. I'm a beautiful calico girl with a friendly heart and plenty to say. I'm quite chatty and like to tell you little stories about my day in funny, squeaky, sometimes downright silly noises. If you talk back, I'll happily keep the conversation going. My favorite things are gentle pets, sitting right next to you, and giving sweet little headbutts to remind you I'm there. I'm affectionate without being overwhelming-just a cozy companion who wants to share space and love. Sometimes I like to eat when someone is nearby. It makes me feel safe, like I'm not alone while I snack. I guess after traveling so far and going through a few changes, I appreciate a little reassurance. I've been through a lot, but I promise I'm a very sweet girl. If you go easy with me and give me a little time, I'll settle in and show you just how loving I can be. Maybe my name doesn't have to mean "lost" anymore. Maybe it can just mean I was on a long journey... to find you.
