About McNugget
McNugget is a one-year-old hound/pointer mix with a big, warm personality and a goofy grin. After a rough start as a stray in tough shape, he's gotten back to full health and has become a dog who loves to snuggle up to his people. Still young and active, McNugget thrives when he's given structure and would do best with someone experienced, ready to guide him and set boundaries. He's friendly with other dogs when introduced properly and really shines around playful dogs who match his energy. McNugget is especially affectionate with kids and has a knack for making families laugh—he's a loyal buddy for work-from-home types too. Give him a splash of water and he lights up, so having a place for him to play in water is a plus. House and crate trained, with good manners indoors, he generally avoids trouble but he’s got a classic hound howl that can carry—so apartment life isn’t his style. There’s a bit of hip weakness due to his past; while he still loves to dash around, he’s not made for long hikes, and a home with few stairs is best. He will need a family who will watch his mobility and be prepared as he ages for some stiffness or arthritis. Sometimes, big social gatherings make him uneasy—he prefers the comfort of home and familiar faces. If you’re looking for a dog with heart and resilience who just wants to finally be safe, McNugget’s the one. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
