While Bo displayed some initial fear with new people and sounds during his transition to the shelter, he has shown us that with time and consistency, he truly blossoms and begins to solicit affection from those he knows and trusts. To help him succeed, Bo is looking for a calm home with children ages 10 and up who can respect his boundaries. Because building a bond is a team effort, we require all household members to be present before bringing him home. His new family should plan to keep his "world small" at first, introducing new people, places, and things slowly-this means skipping busy spots like grooming salons, pet stores, or restaurants while he settles in. Adopters should let Bo initiate interactions and avoid forcing any handling or petting before he is ready. It is also important to note that his previous owner mentioned some history of resource guarding. Adopters should be mindful of this by giving him space while he eats and never taking items directly from his mouth.
