Rocky is a 1 year old, 11lb terrier mix. He came to us urgently from the San Antonio, TX shelter. Rocky had been hit by a car and received no vet care until his owners surrendered him to the shelter more than a whole month after his accident. Rocky suffered for a long time, he dragged his right hind leg beside him, it tried to heal backwards and upside down. By the time Rocky got to the shelter, he had bone exposed in his paw, and necrotic tissue. Rocky had a euthanasia date set due to his extreme medical care, but we could not let that happen. Rocky was rushed to our rescue here in Upstate NY where he had his hind leg amputated. Even without his leg, his spirit has never wavered. Rocky is of the sweetest dogs we have ever met, he is already chasing toys and going up short flights of stairs. He has never met a person or a dog that he doesn't like. He will be very hard to part with, we already love him so much. His rushed travel and surgery were very expensive, but he is worth every single penny. Rocky does not let his missing limb slow him down, he is otherwise a perfectly healthy boy. He has an adorable underbite and he would make a lovely addition to any family.
