Finley is an eight-year-old Labrador Retriever and Australian Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 60 pounds. His breed is certain, as both parents were purebred. Over his life, Finley has weathered quite a bit of change. After his original owners moved into assisted living, he was cared for by an acquaintance, but now she, too, must move and can't bring him along. Finley lives comfortably with a small dog and a young child, getting along well with both. Around other dogs, he does best with small breeds and needs some time to get to know larger ones, but he's never had serious altercations. Though he hasn’t lived with cats, he’s met a few and simply ignored them. The seven-year-old in his current home is a favorite companion, and Finley also does well with visiting children. On walks, he pulls a little on the leash but is otherwise manageable. He’s house trained, crate trained, and trustworthy with free run of the downstairs when left alone.
