About Dugout
Dugout got his name by literally choosing his team: he wandered into a baseball dugout mid-game, looking for somewhere to belong. Even before hitting his first birthday, this young Australian Cattle Dog mix has proven himself resilient in the face of a tough start. After winding up in a shelter and then being rescued, he underwent surgery to fix a fractured kneecap—likely from a car accident before his dugout debut. His walk might always have some personality, but that hasn’t slowed down his spirit or love for life. He’s just out of several weeks' medical rest and ready to get off the bench. Dugout keeps his energy high and his attitude cheerful, greeting every new person or dog as a friend. Adults and kids quickly become fans, and he gets along easily with other dogs. While his leash manners and general training are still coming along due to his medical downtime, he's crate trained and eager to learn. Dugout wants an active home ready to get moving but patient enough to help him work on the basics. He’s looking for a foster-to-adopt situation where recovery and bonding can happen together. However his stride turns out, Dugout is ready for the next inning of his life with a family to root for him. Your new best friend is just one click away.
