Meet Compass! This sweet young mama cat has a heart as golden as her beautiful tabby coat. Compass came to Chicago Animal Care and Control with her five nursing kittens, and from the moment she arrived, she's shown what an incredible, devoted mother she is... even though she's barely more than a kitten herself! Photos truly don't do Compass justice—her coat has the most stunning golden hue that seems to glow in the light, making her look like the angel she is! But despite her beauty, it's her personality that really makes her unforgettable. She's gentle, affectionate, and full of love she's ready to give. Compass is a total cuddle bug. She adores climbing into your lap, curling up into the tiniest little ball, and staying there as long as you'll let her. She's incredibly light—like holding a feather—and she'll happily settle in for a cozy nap while soaking up your attention. She loves to greet you with sweet headbutts to the chin, always hoping for kisses and hugs in return. She's also quite the talker! Compass is extremely vocal and will charm you with her adorable chirps and soft “songs” as she goes about her day. And if you have Churu treats on hand, you'll instantly become her favorite person. This adorable little lady absolutely loves people and she would be thrilled to spend all day in a lap if you let her. She would thrive in a calm, loving home with plenty of cuddle time to go around and she would do well with older, gentle children who are respectful of her boundaries. As a mom, Compass is truly exceptional—always keeping a watchful eye on her kittens and making sure they're safe, fed, and close by. Because of her strong maternal instincts, she can be protective and isn't a big fan of other adult cats. She may be able to get along with other cats in the future, once she's out of "mamma mode", so long as she's given a slow and careful introduction. And of course she would love to go home with one or two of her babies! (Canyon, Coast, Cove, Bay, & Beacon). We would love to see her adopted with one or two of her kittens so she can continue to feel secure and happy with her little family.
