About Penny
If you’re interested, please fill out an application at diggs4dogs.com. Adoption fee: $250 Penny is a beautiful 7–8 year old Australian Shepherd located in Raymond, California, and she’s the kind of dog who will quietly work her way into your heart and never leave. Weighing about 41 pounds, Penny was abandoned and found her way to a ranch where she’s now being cared for, healing both physically and emotionally from a rough past. Despite everything she’s been through, Penny is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She is fully house trained, spayed, and up to date on her rabies vaccine. She’s also very well trained, knowing commands like sit, stay, lie down, and shake, and at one point was even trained to herd sheep. She’s calm, obedient, and eager to please, but she also has a playful side and truly enjoys getting out and doing things with her person. Penny is wonderful with cats, dogs, chickens, horses, and children, making her a rare, well-rounded companion. She may give a low growl when new people enter the home, but with reassurance, she quickly relaxes, wags her tail, and happily greets them. She bonds closely and tends to become a shadow to her person, showing just how much she values connection and security. She loves being outside, going for walks or hikes, and riding in the car or truck—she’s an excellent traveler. Penny is not a dog who wants to sit around all day. Even at her age, she is happiest when she has a person to spend time with and a life that includes some activity and purpose. She would do best with someone who is home often and wants a true companion by their side. After being abandoned, Penny does have some lingering trust concerns about being left behind again, but she is responding beautifully to kindness and consistency. Her injuries are healing, her spirit is strong, and she is ready for a fresh start with someone who will give her the stable, loving home she deserves. Penny isn’t just a good dog—she’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of companion for the right person. If you’re interested, please fill out an application at diggs4dogs.com.
