About Nelson

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Nelson is a shy boy at the very beginning of his journey. Rescued with care, Nelson is still discovering what it feels like to be safe and loved. He's currently extremely timid and tentative about the world, but with every small step forward, his hidden potential starts to shine through. At this point, Nelson displays low energy, spending much of his time quietly observing his surroundings. He is gradually gaining confidence, particularly in the mornings when he'll venture out of his crate to be close to his foster's dog. While he's not yet open to lots of human interaction, he gently takes treats and is, bit by bit, learning the art of trust. Nelson will thrive best in a patient, understanding home that can provide the gentle guidance and time he needs to blossom. A calm and peaceful environment—and perhaps a confident canine companion—will support his continued journey. Nelson has all the makings of an extraordinary companion as he comes out of his shell. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
