Brisa is a 1-year-old spayed German Shepherd who can be very nervous in the kennel and has been seen baring her teeth and growling when overwhelmed. She allows leashing and handling but needs slow, calm interactions to feel safe. Once outside of the kennel and given time to warm up, Brisa becomes affectionate and seeks gentle pets, nudging hands and leaning in for comfort. She walks nicely on leash, is potty trained, and knows several commands including “come here,” “stay,” “wait,” and “go home.” Brisa would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced adopter who understands shy dogs and is committed to helping her build confidence. Dog saw us and pulled ears back, gave low wag, and turned around and trotted away. Smelled high value treats but did not eat. Nervous at the truck (ears back, whale eye, lip licking, crouching tensely). 02/09/26 17:11 Temperament: whale eye, tail tucked, crouched against wall, upon giving pyrantel began puckering lips and low growling, did not attempt any further interaction with her after that.
