About Rupert
Rupert is a gentle, sensitive cat who takes his time to warm up but is full of affection once he feels safe. Adopted in 2022 alongside Dinah, his bonded companion, Rupert has been devoted to her ever since, and both cats recently found themselves back in the care of rescuers after their owner had to surrender them due to personal hardships. Now settled into the adoption room in Plano, TX, Rupert is slowly letting his sweet personality emerge. He’s reserved and a bit shy compared to Dinah, preferring a calm, quiet environment. Rupert enjoys gentle pets, head scratches, and especially likes relaxing on his cat tree to watch the world go by. While he takes a little longer to get comfortable, he is tolerant and will happily play with toys once he trusts you. Rupert and Dinah are seeking a forever home together, where Rupert’s thoughtful nature and need for patience will be met with understanding. This pair is ready for a peaceful new beginning in a loving home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Rupert
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rupert, as an American Shorthair/Tabby mix, generally does best in a calm, stable indoor home. He's adaptable but prefers a peaceful setting, especially since he's more reserved and sensitive.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Rupert, like most domestic cats, thrives indoors and does not require outdoor access. However, window access or a cat tree where he can watch the world provides great enrichment.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
American Shorthair/Tabby mixes like Rupert are usually tolerant of gentle, older children, but given Rupert’s shy and sensitive personality, a quieter home without young kids would suit him better.
