Hi there! I’m Gretel. I am a 1 year old Pitbull Terrier mix, weighing in at 45lbs. Gretel didn’t have the easiest beginning—she came to the rescue a starvation case and had to learn what it meant to feel safe, full, and loved. But like any good fairytale, her story didn’t end there… it’s just getting to the best part. Today, Gretel is thriving and has made the most amazing progress. She’s full of life, love, and a little bit of magic. She gets the cutest bursts of zoomies, loves playing fetch, and still has that playful, puppy-like energy that makes every day brighter. But when the adventure winds down, Gretel transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. She loves nothing more than curling up next to her person and settling in for a cozy night—she’ll happily be your cuddle buddy all night long. Gretel is looking for her dream home! One where she gets all the love and happiness she deserves. She’s good with kids and other dogs with proper introductions. No cats please. She thrives on connection and would do best in a home where she’s not alone for long stretches and can continue building her confidence. Someone who works from home or is home most of the time is her dream. She’s still working on her potty routine as her body continues to heal and will need a little patience and consistency as she settles into a new home—but she’s eager to learn and wants to make her person proud. She is currently working with a professional dog trainer to master her new skills. Gretel is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, current on heartworm preventative, and current on flea/tick preventative.
