About Gerald

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Gerald is a mellow, easygoing Terrier/Chinese Crested mix who has been enjoying the comforts of sanctuary life for over two years. Throughout his time, Gerald has proven to be a very laid back companion, even for a Terrier, except when it comes to nail trims. He coexists peacefully with other sanctuary dogs but would be just as content as the only pet in your home. While his interactions with cats are unknown, his only real prey drive seems to be directed at household cleaning tools like the hoover and broom. When Gerald first arrived, he was suffering from a severe bacterial skin infection and painful ear issues. After thorough allergy testing, it was discovered that he is highly allergic to specific foods including turkey, chicken, fish meal, beet pulp, and rice. Gerald's health has significantly improved thanks to a home-cooked diet, and he would flourish in a home where someone is willing to continue preparing his meals, as he refuses hydrolyzed food. Gerald walks well on leash but could benefit from continued practice. His favorite pastime is burrowing under blankets and relaxing on a heating pad. As a September 3rd baby, Gerald is a practical, loyal Virgo—known for their gentle and nurturing nature. If you’re looking for a loyal, quirky companion who will appreciate a calm environment and a bit of pampering, Gerald could be the perfect fit. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
