About Honey Bun
Honey Bun, also affectionately called Bunny or Bun-Bun, is a Golden Retriever/Cattle Dog mix with a coat as warm as honey and a spirit to match. She sticks close to her person, curling into every inch of space next to you on the couch, and soaks up gentle affection. Still a bit shy at first, she opens up in a calm, patient homeâespecially when there are treats and a few supportive, friendly dogs around. While she does well with other dogs and older kids (teens in her current foster home dote on her), a busy, young-child household isnât her speed. Slow intros help her feel safe; she enjoys quiet time tossing toys and observing wildlife from the yard. Honeyâs journey began on a lonely country road, and though she was fearful when first rescued, sheâs learned to trust againâmoving from frozen and unsure to playful and surprisingly goofy. Sheâll need understanding people who let her open up at her own pace. Once she trusts you, youâll see her silly, food-motivated side and get to witness her unique pogo-stick jumps when a new dog passes by. Honey is house-trained, rarely barks, knows basic commands, and thrives when you use gentle direction. Yelling shuts her down, but patience brings out her best. If you want a loving, shadow-like companion with a soft spot for snuggles and a personality all her own, sheâs ready for her new chapter. Start your journey together! Apply now.
