About Husk

Meet Husk, a striking senior Husky hoping for a warm place to call home. At 9 years old, Husk has that classic Husky look—long, black and cream fur, wise eyes, and a gentle demeanor. He’s happiest in the company of people and has lived peacefully with a female Husky before. He’ll thrive with a calm canine buddy, but he isn’t a match for a home with cats. Husk enjoys walks and handles a leash well, though he’s on light activity after a TPLO surgery in 2022. These days, he sometimes favors one leg, so an adopter willing to keep his play relaxed will keep him feeling his best. He’s definitely more of a cuddle-on-the-couch kind of companion now. Friendly and truly affectionate, Husk’s heart is set on finding a quiet spot in someone’s life. One of his quirks: he’s wild for sardines. He’s neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are current—completely ready to settle in. Before meeting other dogs, a proper meet and greet is required, and renters will need written landlord approval specific to having a dog. Ready to see if Husk is your fit? Questions about Husk

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Husk, as a Husky, would do best in a home with room to move around and an adopter committed to his exercise needs—ideally, somewhere with a secure yard and a family who appreciates large, active dogs.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Huskies generally need spacious outdoor areas to roam, but Husk could do well with moderate outdoor time given his current light-duty activity needs after surgery. A secure yard is a plus.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Many Huskies, including senior ones like Husk, can be gentle and patient with children if treated with respect. Supervised introductions and gentle interactions usually work best.
